“Not on your #IdesOfMarch”

15 March 2020 12:39 Government Wharf, Yellowknife Bay, NWT

A bit windy today… 11.2 km return…. went with the wind to the Snowking’s Winter Festival but decided to return to Franklin so as to fight the wind only some… of the way back…
The wind was strong and the blowing snow out on the full ice reminded me of mini white-outs…. so
No thanks… 👌👍🏾🖖🏼
I’ve had my fill of white-outs…
Even mini ones….72263C6D-CE69-4EB2-874C-77DC287B6A7E-v2

Gravity Racers “7th YK Grand Prix” 2019

Gravity Racers “YK Grand Prix” 2019
“…Well another Grand Prix has come to an end and the cars have been collected, trophies disbursed and clean up done. Please take a look at our sponsors and support those local businesses and organizations that support our community. Proceeds from this year’s race go to help provide the support for children to be able to participate in summer camp.
Next year this portion of School Draw will be under construction so we are looking for a new location, if you have an idea for a location that you think would be good for the race please post . As well, share your favourite pics from the races and tag them #racetoinclusion.
Due to the high demand this year, if you wish to be placed on a pre- register list for next year, please contact the office 873-8230 or email admin@nwtdc.net. Until next year, have a great summer!…”

An Indigenous artist takes a vacation alone — and CBSA holds him, X-rays him for drugs

“… As officers with the 🇨🇦 Canada Border Services Agency examined his bag and his phone, he asked what grounds they had for suspecting him.
“They said because I’m an artist,” said Hogan, who was based in Halifax with the navy from 2001 to 2005. “They read it on my file and said that was a trigger, because they don’t believe that artists could even afford to go on vacation, basically.”
Even harder for the officers to believe, he said, was that an artist could take a four-star vacation in the Dominican Republic in March, flying in a premium class…”
