“…Merv Hardie Crossing an Icy Mackenzie River “Merv Hardie Crossing an Icy Mackenzie River” – ISO 400, f/11, 10″ exposure – Friday night marked the last Merv Hardie ferry crossing that I’ll ever make in my life. It was a beautiful night, with the winds crisp and biting, as we pulled up on the North side of the Mackenzie River, waiting for the ferry to make it’s crossing. As the frigid November waters flowed swiftly downstream, the ferry fought it’s way through thick, broken sheets of ice to transport the last few cars before parking for the evening. This marks the final season of the Merv Hardie’s Mackenzie River operations at Fort Providence.
The Deh-Cho bridge is set to be completed later on this year….”
